Expert Cellulite Treatment in Montclair, New Jersey
Do you hate the “cottage cheese” look of your thighs? You are not alone! For years, women have searched for ways to rid themselves of unsightly cellulite from their legs, buttocks and arms. In fact, studies estimate that between 80 and 90 percent of women may experience cellulite at some time in their lives. Dr. Sheila Bond explains that cellulite can affect any body type and is not a result of being overweight. There are countless lotions, potions and techniques that claim to reduce cellulite but truthfully none of them worked.
Not to despair as there is hope! At The Body and Face Cosmetic and Plastic Specialists NJ, Dr. Bond offers Cellulaze™, a minimally invasive laser procedure designed to attack the structure of cellulite beneath your skin. The best candidate for the Cellulaze™ treatment is a non-smoker at a stable and healthy body weight. Cellulaze™ delivers longer-lasting results after only one short treatment.
What Causes Cellulite?
While cellulite can affect both men and women, it is more common in females. This is due many factors including, the different distributions of fat, muscle, and connective tissue in a woman. Genetically women tend to carry more fat around their thighs and hips with less connective tissue to hold it in place.
Cellulite occurs when connective fibers underneath the skin become weak or lose their elasticity. It is also true that cellulite runs in families. Dr. Bond advises that while genetics is a factor in developing cellulite; factors like diet, exercise, and maintaining a healthy weight also play a role.
The appearance of dimpled, uneven skin caused by cellulite can appear on the thighs, buttocks, and arms. The dimpling effect on the skin is caused by tiny vertical fibers that form below the skin and pull down through the fat producing an “orange peel” effect.
What Is Cellulaze™ & How Is It Performed?
Cellulaze™ is a remarkable laser cellulite treatment from Cynosure. The Cellulaze™ laser technology reduces cellulite by cutting through the fiber threads that cause skin dimpling. The controlled heat of the laser promotes tissue and skin tightening and helps your body’s creation of new collagen for a smoother appearance. It also helps even out the fat cells to smooth the contour.
The Cellulaze™ procedure begins with Dr. Bond inserting a very small cannula (or tube about the size of the tip of a pen) in the skin. The laser fiber inside the tube delivers energy directly under the skin which increases the thickness and quality of your skin, while simultaneously releasing the fibrous bands that pull it down. This also reduces the number of fat cells.
The laser also stimulates collagen production to increase your skin’s strength and elasticity for a smoother look. Finally, the liquefied fat is gently pressed out. Unlike other cellulite treatments, the result is minimization of the orange peel look associated with cellulite. It is important to know that your results will continue to improve for the next three to twelve months*.
During the procedure you will feel minimal discomfort as the procedure is performed with a local anesthesia. Patients may feel light pressure or a mild sensation. Cellulaze™ is performed in one session, in our office.
After your procedure you will have some bruising and discomfort. Patients experience minimal downtime and can go back to your normal activities after a day or two and resume more strenuous exercise after one to two weeks*.
FDA-approved Cellulaze™ treatments target cellulite on your body and can smooth its appearance for one year or even longer*.
